In this article we look at the top breakout shows of the past week. Breakout shows are the most in-demand series that have premiered in the past 90 days.

After an impressively strong debut week, Netflix’s One Piece saw its demand drop by 32% in its second week post premiere. The show still remained at the top of the ranking this week, but doesn’t appear to have quite the lead it did last week, dropping to 46.1x average demand just edging ahead of second place Ahsoka which had 43.2x the average series demand. The ‘Star Wars’ series has maintained a consistent level of demand since its premiere, making it likely that we might just see it reclaim first place next week and remain there as it continues airing episodes weekly until October 03.

Another Walking Dead spin-off series from AMC made its way into the ranking this week, taking third place with 28.7 times the average series demand. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon had a 235% increase in demand after premiering its first episode on September 10 this week. The show follows the titular fan favorite character ‘Daryl Dixon’ so it is expected to bring in more audience attention; it seems AMC may have anticipated this and already greenlit a second season back in July, with production underway at the moment. Meanwhile, demand for My Adventures with Superman fell further by 25%, which saw the series slide to fourth place in the ranking this week.

Max’s Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake which premiered on August 31, seems to still be going strong. The show saw another 10% increase in demand, rising up from seventh place to fifth place, becoming 22.5x more in demand than the average series in the U.S. this week. Demand data has also demonstrated that the spin-off series has raised demand for the original Adventure Time, possibly due to fans revisiting and/or new audiences discovering the original animated series.

Apple TV+ is back with what seems to be yet another hit with their new series The Changeling which saw an astounding 236% increase in demand after its first three episodes premiered on September 08. Based on a novel of the same name, the horror fantasy show has captured audience attention this week and could likely maintain an outstanding level of demand throughout its run especially considering the popularity of the novel. It remains to be seen how much higher demand for the show will go, but as of this week it took seventh place in the ranking with 22.1 times the average series demand.

Rounding out the top breakout shows this week, we see Hijack and The Walking Dead: Dead City maintain their positions in ninth and tenth place respectively with 18.7x and 17.7x the average series demand. Both shows have had a very minute increase in demand as well, which saw them have almost the same level of demand as last week. It’s likely that we might just see more spikes in demand for Dead City and the original Walking Dead as Daryl Dixon continues on its airtime run, a pattern that has been observed before when other shows in the TWD universe premiered.
