Once again, America’s most demanded series is Disney+’s The Mandalorian. After a week ranked second, the sci-fi drama is back on top as it heads into its season finale. The Star Wars series now has just one episode left to air on December 27th. However, fans will not have to wait too long for more Star Wars: a Disney+ exclusive season of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars arrives on the service in February 2020.

The highest rising series in the overall chart is HBO’s Watchmen, which is the 9th most demanded show in the US this week. Demand for Watchmen increased by 19% compared to last week. The demand was driven by the the superhero series’ season finale on December 15th.

Parrot Analytics’ television measurement currency shows that NBC’s Saturday Night Live has the second most Demand Expressions this week. For the first time in 35 years Eddie Murphy hosted the variety comedy, reprising many classic characters. The high demand from American audiences aligns with critical opinion, with critics calling it one of the best Saturday Night Live episodes of the decade.

In the digital original charts, The Mandalorian, Netflix’s Stranger Things and DC Universe’s Titans remain as the US top 3 in that order. Between them, these 3 titles have held the top spots for the past 5 weeks.

However, a sign of future disruption arrives in the form of Netflix’s The Witcher in 9th. Industry commentators are calling The Witcher Netflix’s attempt at the Game Of Thrones crown. The fantasy drama premiered on December 20th, meaning it only had one day of post-release data this week. However, demand for the show still increased by 57.4% week-on-week. Next week, when the show will have been available to watch for all seven days, The Witcher will almost certainly place higher.

If you can’t wait until next week to see if The Witcher has met Netflix’s expectations, Parrot Analytics have recently made our television measurement currency, Demand Expressions, more accessible than ever. Along with thousands of other titles in multiple markets, you can now follow The Witcher’s daily US metrics yourself on the Parrot Analytics title insights pages.

Originals from Prime Video round out the digital original top 5 this week. In 4th place is sci-fi The Expanse, up from 7th last week with nearly 20% more demand. The Expanse takes 4th place at the expense of comedy The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which moves down to 5th.
