Ireland genre and subgenre preferences
- The music genre reached its largest share of demand in Ireland in this report. 8.5% of demand for series was for a show in this genre, which can include a range of formats like singing competition series or music documentaries.
- The romance genre struggled to gain traction with Irish audiences. Only 12.3% of demand for shows was for the romance genre, the smallest share in this report and well below the global share of demand for this type of content (19.1%).
- Game shows were notably popular with Irish audiences. 6.8% of demand for shows was for a game show in this market, the genre’s largest share in this report.
- Ireland was the most sitcom-loving market in this report. 8.0% of demand for shows was for a sitcom here. Ireland only had an average share of demand for the comedy genre overall so this indicates a unique love of sitcoms here rather than a broader love of comedy.
- Similarly, satire was a comedic subgenre that overperformed in Ireland. 2.2% of demand for shows was for a satire which is well above the 1.0% global share of demand for this subgenre.
- Pre-school aged shows accounted for a share of demand in Ireland that was more than twice the global share of demand for these shows (4.7% vs. 1.9%).

- Presumed Innocent, from Apple TV+, premiered on June 12th and had its finale on July 24th. This show was particularly successful breaking through with Irish audiences where it ranked as the eighth most in-demand show for the quarter, higher than any other market in this report.
- Multiple reality series had especially high demand in Ireland and ranked higher here than in any other market in this report including Below Deck Mediterranean (#35), Love Island (UK) (#39), and Dance Moms (#57).
