The show with the most OTT TV demand in the United States this week continues to be Netflix’s Stranger Things. This marks the fifth week in a row at the top of the overall demand chart for the sci-fi drama. US demand for the show has been steadily decreasing from the post-release peak and the show dropped 16.4% compared to last week’s demand for Stranger Things. However, it still has a significant lead in demand over the next most demanded titles.

The largest rise in the overall demand chart is for AMC’s The Walking Dead. The post-apocalyptic zombie drama has around a third more demand than last week. Demand surged after details were released about the show’s spin-off theatrical movie. The Walking Dead fans had a lot to discuss this week as they were also given a trailer for the upcoming Season 10.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show is also up by about a third, returning to the top ten as rank 6th from 13th last week. The show was nominated for two Emmys and had a busy week with its coverage of Boris Johnson becoming the UK’s Prime Minister and the latest Mueller hearing. In addition, the show’s sketch on student loans went viral with over 1.5 million YouTube video views. Riverdale also returned to the top ten overall chart this week, moving to 8th from 11th last week.

There are big changes in the digital original chart this week. While Stranger Things remains top of the chart, The Handmaid’s Tale is pushed down to 5th by three new entries: Orange Is The New Black, Money Heist, and Veronica Mars.

After all episodes of the show’s revival Season 4 were unexpectedly released on July 19th, Hulu’s Veronica Mars rose from 21st to 4th in terms of OTT TV demand. Although the former The CW title last aired new episodes in 2007, the high demand for this new season will not be surprising for industry insiders. The property clearly maintains a passionate fanbase as a Kickstarter for a Veronica Mars reunion film exceeded its goals in 2014.

The new second place on the chart this week is Orange Is The New Black. Season 7 of the Netflix prison drama was released on July 26th and demand has nearly doubled from last week. Season 7 is the final season of the show.

Similarly, demand for Netflix crime drama Money Heist more than doubled in demand after the show’s third season was released on 19th July. As a result, it is the 3rd most in-demand digital original in the United States up from 13th last week. Although the show is Spanish it has always performed well outside of Spain, Netflix has previously stated that Money Heist is their most watched non-English language series.
