Czech Republic Digital Original Genre and Subgenre Preferences

• More than half of demand for digital originals in the Czech Republic was for a drama original in Q1 2021. This is above the global average share, 49.0%.
• Accounting for 24.5% of digital original demand, Czech audiences expressed the third highest share of demand for action/adventure originals of markets in this report, behind Chile (31.0%) and Venezuela (29.9%).

• The share of demand for comedy originals in the Czech Republic (10.3%) is well below the global average share for this genre (15.6%)

• The Czech Republic was one of three markets in this report where sci - fi drama was the most in-demand digital original subgenre for the quarter.
• The Czech Republic is unique in this report as the only market where action fantasy made it into the top 10 most in - demand digital original subgenres. This was helped by the popularity of The Witcher in this country.
• Sci-fi action was the 5th most in-demand digital original subgenre in the Czech Republic in Q1 2021. This subgenre ranked higher in only Chile in this report.

Czech Republic Platform Demand Share and Digital Originals Demand Distribution

• Demand for digital originals in the Czech Republic is the most Netflix dominated of markets in this report. The 57.1% of demand for a Netflix well above the global average share of demand for Netflix originals, 50.2%.
• Of markets in this report, Czech audiences give the smallest share for demand for digital originals to original series from platforms in the ‘Other ‘ category.
• In the 24 month trend chart we can see how Disney+ achieved a larger share of demand for digital originals in the Czech Republic in Q1 2021 than at any point since its launch. It peaked at a 15.7% share of digital original demand in March 2021.

• The most in-demand digital original series in the Czech Republic in Q1 2021 is WandaVision. For the quarter it had 18.0 times the demand of the average series.
• Perennially popular Stranger Things was the second most in-demand digital original in the Czech Republic for Q1 2021. It had 15.8 times the average series demand and ranked higher here than in any other market in this report.
• As the most Netflix-loving market in this report, the Czech Republic has high demand for a number of Netflix originals not highly ranked in other markets. Disenchantment was the 19th most in-demand digital original with 3.2 times the average demand. Flaked also ranked exceptionally high here with 2.0 times the average demand.

Czech Republic Platform Demand Share for Drama and Action/Adventure Digital Originals

• In the Czech Republic, more than two - thirds of demand for drama originals was for a Netflix original. This is well above the global average share of demand for Netflix dramas – 53.4%.
• Czech audiences give the smallest share of demand to drama originals from Other platforms (2.8%) of all markets in this report.
• Apple TV+ more than doubled its share of demand for drama originals in Q1 2021, growing to 6.9% in March from a 3.0% share in January.

• Czech audiences’ share of demand for action/adventure originals from HBO Max (7.7%) is well below the global average share for this platform (13.6%).
• While Disney+’s share of demand for action/adventure originals in the Czech Republic is only the 7th largest in this report, the consistency of Disney+’s growth stands out in this market. It has grown its share of demand for action adventure originals each month since August 2020.
• Disney+’s sustained growth in this space has squeezed the demand share of each of the other major platforms for action adventure originals. As of March 2021, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, and Paramount+ each had a lower share of demand than at any point in the previous 8 months.
